My name is Jordan Edge - Thank you for visiting and taking in an interest in my invention. If you have any questions please contact me.
I have always had a vested interest in Engineering and this has taken me around the world for personal 'ticks in the box'. I have been to the top of the worlds tallest buildings, traveled over some of the longest bridges, I have journeyed on the fastest trains and on some of the longest rail lines. I have been on the worlds biggest passenger aircraft, down mines and in submarines.
I enjoy being in Engineering and I want my inventions to give back to the industry as it has gave me a lot.
I have been in Engineering since 2008 when I started as a Civil Engineering Apprentice with Capita Symonds in Barrow in Furness. In my 12 year career I have worked mainly in Highways, for Capita Symonds, Local Authorities, Kier and Aone+. I have worked in the Railway Sector for Network Rail and Amey.
I have also has a brief 7 month stint abroad working as an English Teacher.
I have been fortunate enough that my work has allowed me to work in different areas of the country and see new, interesting things and places.
I have thought up several inventions and only in the last few years gave myself the push to try and develop some of them. I believe that now is the right time to to develop the Electric Kerb and I hope that other share a similar vision.
Developing the Electric Kerb has allowed me to look at different aspects of Engineering, appreciate what it has to offer as well as meet good people along the way, such as the Students and Staff at Lancaster University, and others.
I am a Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) I sit on the North West Young Professionals Committee. I have recently taken on the role of Committee Chair and hope to play a more active part than I previously have in the committee.
I am a;
